Thumbs up for Norwegian films Down Under
Starting October 16th through November 1st, Norwegian features Max Manus and The Man who loved Yngve will be screened at the Nordic Film Festival in the Australian cities of Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. October 14th, The Sydney Morning Herald published an article on the Max Manus director duo Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg. The article is about their close collaboration as film makers and the film's domestic success. Reporter Conrad Walters' heading reads "Saboteurs versus Nazis, minus the stereotypes".
The two Norwegian films at the festival has already been mentioned in a wide range of Australian media, ranging from online City Guides to film industry magazines and regular news media.
About the festival
Nordic Film Festival is a joint venture between the Nordic embassies in Australia. The festival aimas at increasing Australian interest in Scandinavian films.

Norwegian director Sara Johnsen’s second feature, Upperdog, which was last week (20 August) awarded five Amandas (Norway’s national film prize( is one of the five Nordic nominées for the Nordic Council Film Prize - the largest Scandinavian film award, which comes with a $60,000 (DKK 350,000) cheque, to be shared by the winning film’s director, scriptwriter and producer.
