Renting the NFI Cinema Theatres

The Norwegian Film institute has at its disposal two state-of-the art cinema theatres in the Film House in down-town Oslo, with easy access on foot or by bus, tram, or train; garage parking near-by.

Both cinemas may be rented:

  • Mondays and Saturdays between 09:00 and 24:00
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays between 09:00 and 18:00

The halls are also well suited for seminars, meetings, and press conferences.

The Tancred

195 very comfortable and reclining seats, good leg-space; facilities include lectern, tables for panel discussions, and other equipment according to needs.  Sound and audio hook-up, Internet connection at lectern, microphones connected to separate PA system.

The Lillebil

68 very comfortable reclining seats, good leg-space.  All technical facilities similar to Tancred, but more intimate and suited for smaller audiences.

Both cinemas provide screening facilities for 35mm analogue and 4K digital projection, including projection capacity in the following formats: 2K/4K Dcp, HDCAM SR, HDCAM, Digital Betacam (including NTSC), Beta SP, HDV/DVCAM/DV/MiniDV, Blu-Ray, DVD.  The larger hall also provides 70mm analogue projection, RealD 3D, and Beta SP in NTSC format.

A spacious foyer on the access level is highly suitable for receptions, conferences or meetings.
