Times of Darkness depicts the conditions under which women lived in Norway during the Second World War and the contribution made by them. |
| Summary |
Times of Darkness is feature-length documentary for the cinema and for television. It depicts the conditions under which women lived in Norway during the Second World War, and the contribution made by them; women's everyday encounters with the German war machine and their opposition to it, their imprisonment, torture and deportation to a foreign country. The film mixes three modes: interviews with ten women who participated in the resistance, archive material, and dramatisation of a number of wartime episodes. The result is a collective portrait of women fighting against injustice, brutality and oppression. |
