| Short summary |
For ten years, Bent has had his hair cut at Frank's Barber's Shop. He has also faithfully brought his father dinner every day, and he is never absent from work. In short, Bent lives a rather stable and predictable life. One day Susuie moves into the neighbourhood with her aroma-therapy practice. Frank the haridresser is instantly sceptical towards the newcomer. Susie has moved at least five times in recent years, and has an extremely poor memory. Reluctantly, Bent becomes fascinated with her. In spite of Frank's resistance and the fact that Susuie never remembers who she falls in love with, he decides he wants to make some changes in his life. At least change hairdressers. |
| Summary |
My Jealous Barber is a film about changes, to change yourself. The three main-characters lives in the same street, and when they finally meets they have to face new problems. Unknown problems concerning themselves. The question is: Do they manage to solve them?
Bent is a young man who finds comfort in routines and stability. He is never absent from his job, he always has his hair cut at the same haridresser's, and he faithfully brings his old father his dinner every day. But then the aroma therapist Susie moves into the neighbourhood. Susie is a woman with soft hands, a big heart, and an extremely poor memory. Her short term memory is so weak that she never remembers anything from the day before. Bent is reluctantly fasinated by her, who thinks every meeting with him is their first meeting, and who every day enthusiasticaly welcomes him as a new customer. The haridresser Frank observes what is about to happen, and he warns Bent against doing anything hasty. But Bent decides he wants to do something new in his life. At least change haridressers. This is a low-key, compassionate comedy. The story is dense and simple, the characters charming, and the problems are universal. |
