| Short summary |
De usynlige is the new film from the team behind Hawaii, Oslo. The film tells the story of a mother losing her child, a young man who becomes a murderer, and about attempts to reconcile oneself with past events. It is also about two people trying to come to terms with the past - and with their own destiny. They are trying to accept the persons they have become, and at the same time they are seeking for a new way to relate to love. |
| Summary |
How do you find light, joy and purpose in life after a blow of fate?
Jan Thomas is released from prison after having served eight years - for what may have been an accident or murder ... Being a divinely gifted organist, he gets a deputyship in a church. The priest is Anna, a single mother that Jan Thomas soon feels attracted to. He decides not to tell her about his past, but then Agnes, a teacher, comes on a school visit to the church. She recognizes the organist Jan Thomas as the young boy who was convicted of the murder of her son ...
‘Troubled Water’ skilfully combines two strong stories about people who try to come to terms with the past - and with their own fate. They try to accept who they have become, and to find a new way to relate to love. ‘Troubled Water’ is the third film in Erik Poppe’s trilogy which started with ‘Schpaaa’ and ‘Hawaii, Oslo’.
