When still a child, Jesper lost his father in a fire. After being rescued from the same fate by his flatmate, he realises that like his father, he has a drinking problem. Dear Dad illustrates how a family bequeaths its problems. And how alcoholism is hard to acknowledge when superficially you are a successful guy in the movie business.
