Short film Silence

Nine-year-old Bahar recently lost her ability to hear. Due to lack of resources in the village, she is omitted from school.  This feeling of alienation is the beginning of a series of desperate acts  culminating in an attempt to cure herself.

    Brwa Vahappour (f.1993) is a Kurdish Norwegian filmmaker who has a bachelor’s degree in film direction from The Norwegian Film School (2018). In 2018 he won Nordic Talent’s honorable mention. He has directed several short films screened at A-list festivals. He was also episode director of the award-winning drama series Countrymen, which premiered at Canneseries in 2021. Europa will be his debut feature.
