The bystander effect is like a cerebral and affective penetration.  

A 6th grade’s discussion about power structures that also evolves between the 11-year-olds in the group. The film studies the bystander-effect in different dimensions and almost breaking the barriers between the illustrative, hyper-realistic and fictive.

    Yenni Lee (b. 1985) is a Norwegian-Vietnamese director and screenwriter from Norway and has an MA from the Film School of Valand Academy in Sweden. Her earlier works consist of the short films Explosions in the Heart (2016) and Air Balloon (2011) which screened at several international festivals, and the music video Run Away (2013) that participated at the music- and film festival South by Southwest and Atlanta Film Festival. In august 2016 she got selected for the talent programme at the Locarno Film Festival together with the talents from the Résidence programme at Cannes Cinéfondation, where she also had a special screening of the short film Explosions in the Heart.
