Ramborgs latest film, The Ash Lad: In the Hall of the Mountain King, became last year’s Norwegian top performer in the cinemas.

Strengthening the industry networks

Organised for the 18th time, the five-day schedule (10-14 May) for the 20 European producers – who have been main producers of at least one international co-production – includes a range of workshops and seminars, aiming at strengthening their industry networks.

Ramborg most recently produced Norwegian director Mikkel Brænne Sandemose’s The Ash Lad: In the Hall of the Mountain King (Askeladden – i Dovregubbens hall) for Maipo Film, which sold 354,196 in Norway to become last year’s Norwegian top performer in the cinemas.

Ash Lad sequel

Educated at the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer, Ramborg had produced short films, before she was signed by Maipo Film in 2009. Her first feature was Norwegian director Anne Sewitsky’s Homesick (De nærmeste/2015), which won lead actress Ine Marie Wilmann several prizes.

”The timing for joining Producers on the Move is perfect, since I experience an increasing need of a bigger  personal co-producer network to realise projects in development,” said Ramborg, who is now working on an Ash Lad sequel.
