Sick of Myself is director and scriptwriter Kristoffer Borgli`s second feature film after his debut DRIB, which had its world premiere at SXSW in 2017.

Just one year after the great success of Joachim Trier's The Worst Person in the World in Cannes that gave  Renate Reinsve the award as best actress, and Eskil Vogt's The Innocents premiered in Un Certain Regard, Norway returns to Cannes with the world premiere of Kristoffer Borgli's Sick of Myself.

Fantastic recognition

"Being invited to Cannes and Un Certain Regard is fantastic recognition for Kristoffer as a director and the best start we could dream of for this film. In collaboration with a talented and inspiring crew and cast, Kristoffer has made a sensational and incredibly funny film that we are now looking forward to showing to the world ", say the two producers Dyveke Bjørkly Graver and Andrea Berentsen Ottmar in Oslo Pictures.

The Un Certain Regard section is part of the official Cannes Film Festival program. This is the third time in eleven years that a Norwegian film has been invited to Un Certain Regard, after Eskil Vogt's The Innocents in 2021 and Joachim Triers Oslo August 31st in 2011. Previously, Vibeke Løkkeberg, Unni Straume, Stefan Faldbakken and Bent Hamer have also had world premieres of their films in Un Certain Regard.

About the film

Signe (Kristine Kujath Thorp) and Thomas (Eirik Sæther) are in an unhealthy, competitive relationship that takes a vicious turn when Thomas suddenly breaks through as a contemporary artist. In response, Signe makes a desperate attempt to regain her status by creating a new persona hell-bent on attracting attention and sympathy.
