Uma er adoptert og så lenge hun kan huske har hun stilt spørsmål rundt sin egen adopsjon. Vi følger hovedpersonen Uma på hennes reise reise tilbake til Korea. Dette er en personlig historie om adopsjon sett fra adoptivbarnets ståsted. Uma tar et oppgjør med den typisk norske tankegangen rundt adopsjon. Den godtatte norske «stuerene» lykkelige adopsjonshistorien står til fall.

    Uma Feed Tjelta is a trained method acting actress, she has been working as a freelance actress for several years. She has appeared in several productions for the stage, performances and done smaller appearances in drama series, films, commercials, and short films as well as her own productions for the stage. Her last independent work, a performance called Ecco, is seen as the precursor to The Only Story. 

    In Ecco, Uma asks herself existential questions while orchestrating life as a route consisting of multiple choices. The route reveals her journey. A road from east to west, from death to life, from birth mom till mom, from heredity to environment. 

    The short documentary, The Only Story, is a fusion between a travel journal, pieces of fiction and documentation of the live performance, Ecco, in Seoul.  The Only Story is Uma Feed Tjelta's debut as a documentary director.
