”The enemy of art is the absence of limitations”
Orson Welles

12 participants who can be writers, directors and producers will tackle initial ideas, reinforcing them to become strong future feature projects before entering long-run development process. Intellectual flexibility is key to explore the possibilities generated with "pre-writing techniques". The aim of the workshop is to help the participants get into research mode, explore and genereate new ideas and play with the possibilities of the starting point.

The aim is not about getting feedback on a project already written.

Two international script consultants from LIM/Le Groupe Ouest will run the workshop during 5 days.

In addition an open session/Masterclass will be organised on Monday October 29th 18-20 PM to showcase how budget constraints can trigger creativity when you introduce them early enough.

More info about the Masterclass: TBA

To apply for the workshop: e-mail CV, motivation letter and max one-page idea outline (optional) of a current project to Rune Tellefsen in English.

Deadline: Wednesday 26.09

Selected regional participants (outside of Oslo-area) may be eligible to apply for travel support. More information after selection.

About LIM:

LIM offers a new generation of filmmakers, already known either for their short films or first features, the opportunity of designing a strong route into limited budget feature film production.

The scheme (see LIM 2019) is open to 1st, 2nd and 3rd feature film projects, as well as to artists coming from strong theatre, documentary or visual arts backgrounds. Twelve emerging European producers wanting to strengthen their ability to develop projects within a low to micro budget frame are coached in parallel and integrate the process.

LIM does not define limited budgets in accounting terms, as such conditions vary from country to country. LIM approach is resolutely both conceptual and pragmatic: use limitation as a strength!

Supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union, LIM | Less is More is led by Le Groupe Ouest, developed with Control N (Romania), Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds – VAF (Belgium), Krakow Festival Office – KBF (Poland) and the Transilvania International Film Festival – TIFF (Romania), and in partnership with The Lithuanian Film Centre, The Norwegian Film Institute, The Macedonian Film Centre.
