From the barren coastline of Finnmark to the deep forests of Finland, The Mother Age searches for clues to shed light on an ancient theory reaching back to the dawn of humanity.
The filmmaker wants to challenge the idea that the knife was the first tool made by man, and embarks on a journey to find traces of the carrying bag. As she takes us between the edge of the forest and the forest itself, we meet people who transport us back in time in the hope of finding lost knowledge in soil and folklore that could turn history upside down.
