Norwegian talents in Berlin

Norwegian filmmakers are once again represented in Berlinale’s various talent programs this year. The NFI is a partner with Berlinale and has selected participants for the Visitor and Toolbox programs.

Berlinale Co-Production Market – Visitors Program

The Berlinale Co-Production Market is a financing forum where numerous projects are pitched to the international industry. In addition, the market offers a dedicated Visitors Program for emerging feature film producers with international ambitions who want to learn how a co-production market operates. Each partner country selects its own participants for this program, and this year’s Norwegian participants and their production companies are:

  • Line Klungseth Johansen / Helmet
  • Njål Lambrechts / TrueWest
  • Øyvind Lierhagen Eriksen / True Content

Toolbox is an initiative by the EFM – European Film Market and Berlinale, designed for producers from marginalized and underrepresented groups. The goal is to provide filmmakers with access to the international film industry by eliminating barriers and equipping them with insights, business tools, and networks to navigate the global film market more effectively. This year’s Norwegian participants and their production companies are:

  • Farzad Samsami / GorillaFilm – participating in Fiction Toolbox
(with the feature film project Waves of Silence, which has received NFI Neo-production funding)
  • Ageliki Lefkaditou / Arctic Light – participating in Doc Toolbox
(with the documentary Frost uten Snø og Is, which has received production funding from NFI)

The goal is to connect emerging talents with experienced industry professionals and help projects secure funding and international distribution.

  • Louise Beyer from Skala is also participating with the project A Certain Type, alongside:
  • Co-producer Jonas Bruun / Skala
