Eight Golden Globe nominations for Sentimental Value

Norwegian feature Sentimental Value received a record eight Golden Globe nominations during Monday’s announcement. Joachim Trier is nominated for Best Director, Renate Reinsve for Best Actress, and Sentimental Value was nominated for Best Drama Film and Best Non-English Language Film. This is the highest number of Golden Globe nominations ever for a Norwegian film.

The nominations in the 28 Golden Globe categories were announced on Monday.

These are the eight Golden Globe nominations for Sentimental Value:

  • Best Motion Picture – Drama
  • Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language
  • Best Performance Picture by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama: Renate Reinsve
  • Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture: Elle Fanning
  • Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture: Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture: Stellan Skarsgård
  • Best Director – Motion Picture: Joachim Trier
  • Best Screenplay – Motion Picture: Joachim Trier, Eskil Vogt

More nominations for Sentimental Value 

The Golden Globes are among the most prestigious American film and TV awards, voted on by international industry journalists and film critics. The awards will be presented during a live televised gala on CBS on Sunday, January 11.

Sentimental Value is also nominated for eight awards, including Best Film, at the European Film Awards, which will be presented on January 17 in Berlin.

Last week, Sentimental Value received seven nominations, including Best Film, at this year’s Critics Choice Awards, presented by American film critics.

This fall, Sentimental Value was selected as Norway’s Oscar candidate. The shortlists for this year’s Oscar nominations will be announced on December 16.

Sentimental Value has received NOK 20.5 million in development and production funding from the Norwegian Film Institute.
