Feature film Anchors Up - Boats to the Rescue
(Elias og Storegaps hemmelighet)


After a brave rescue mission in stormy weather, a young rescue boat is headhunted by a larger harbor where he realizes that bigger is not always better.  

During a big storm, Elias gets an emergency call from the neighboring  city Big Harbor, asking him to rescue a ship in trouble. Elias succeeds  and is head hunted to Big Harbor leaving his friends behind. But work in  Big Harbor turns out to be much harder than expected. One evening Elias  has a run-in with a local gang and discovers that they are mining an  illegal precious metal, which emits electromagnetic waves that affect  the weather. Elias will soon find out that what he needs most to be able  to expose the mining operation is the help of his old friends…

  • Simen Alsvik

    Simen Alsvik (b. 1971) has directed more than 40 episodes of drama over the last six years. He is the main director of the Netflix Original series LILYHAMMER, which has been sold to 150 countries all around the world - twice winning the Golden Nymph at the International TV Festival in Monte Carlo, and has also picked up Best Drama Award at the Norwegian Television Festival. His new series FALLET (The Case), made for Swedish broadcaster SVT, was picked for Hollywood Reporter's list of the Top Ten TV-shows at MipCom Cannes 2017, and is nominated Best Comedy at Seoul International Drama Festival. Simen also co-created the dramedy NESTE SOMMER (Next Summer), which was the biggest TV-show on Discovery Channel Norway for four consecutive years. Simen has been show-running and directing the series, which was awarded Best Comedy at the Norwegian Television Festival 2016. 

    Simen has co-written and co-directed the animation feature ELIAS OG STOREGAPS HEMMELIGHET / ANCHORS UP, which is his first animation movie.

  • William John Ashurst

    William John Ashurst has worked within the animation industry for nearly two decades after graduating from St Martins College in London – his directing credits range from film, TV series, adverts as well as script writing. Notable credits are Christmas Carol: The Movie and Mr Bean  - the animated series. In 2005, together with Paul Parkes William John Ashurst created the hit TV series, King Arthur´s Disasters for CITV. It regularly won it´s audience share in the competitive children´s market. It was awarded a BAFTA nomination in 2006 for best animation. 

    After directing the third series and relaunch of Elias: Rescue Team Adventures for Animando he help develop and co - Direct the feature film together with Simen Alsvik. 

    William John Ashurst currently lives in Norway, with his family, where he works as a Director at Qvisten Animation in Oslo. He is currently directing the animation on “Kutoppen”  feature film due for cinema release next autumn, while also developing other projects in house.
