Norwegian top producers and creators to pitch in Los Angeles
During two-days in Los Angeles, March 23-24, Norway’s top producers and creators will present their drama series and feature films in development for US acquisition, finance, distribution, and development executives.
Fiction Norway LA is an exclusive, invite-only event and uncovers the best of new feature film and drama series projects from Norway’s established and next-generation producers, directors, and showrunners.
The Norwegian Film Institute is the main public financing body, managing $75M in grants and incentives for development, production, and exhibition. The Norwegian Film Institute has curated a selection of projects in advanced development, with North American or world rights available. Each project has a solid partner attached and benefits such as non-recoupable funding from regional or national funds. The projects will be presented in Los Angeles by the lead producers and creatives, and the Fiction Norway team will be on hand to book one-on-one meetings.
The Norwegian delegation in LA includes the following production companies: 4 ½, 74 Entertainment, Fantefilm, Handmade Films in Norwegian Woods, Mer Film, Nordisk Film, Oslo Pictures, Paradox and Storm Films.
Fiction Norway was held for the first time in 2020 at the Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF), presenting 25 projects to the US and international executives.
Fiction Norway takes place in the week leading up to the 94th Academy Awards, in conjunction with the Nordic Oscar Week(NOW). Norway's The Worst Person in the World is up for two nominations at the Academy Awards for Original Screenplay and International Feature. Norway also has the two minority co-productions Flee (Denmark) and Writing with Fire (India), nominated for four awards, and, last but not least, Liv Ullmann receiving the Honorary Award.
