    Hala Elkoussy (b. 1974) is an artist and filmmaker living in Cairo and Amsterdam. She studied art in the Netherlands and the UK, and is the co-founder of Contemporary Image Collective, an artist-run initiative based in Cairo. Cactus Flower is her first feature film, and premiered at the Rotterdam film festival.
