Short film Doah

Doah lives in a small village in Morocco with her single mother. All she wants is to play soccer with the boys in the village. But due to her skin disease, she is cursed by the "evil eye" and shut out as the village outcast. Every day Doah and her mother struggle against hate and social exclusion. When Doah is forced to confront the weakness of her mother, she finally decides to stand up for herself.

    Farzad Samsami (b. 1980 in Tehran) established GorillaFilm in 2005; he has directed and produced numerous low budget short films, and music videos. His first short film, Foad (2013) was shown at several national and international festivals, among them Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival and the Palm Springs Shortsfest. At Palm Springs, Foad received the HP Bridging The Borders Award, presented by Cinema Without Borders. In 2017, Samsami received production grants for two new short films, My Father (2018) and Evil Eyes (2019).
