Torfinn Iversen
Torfinn Iversen (b. 1985) holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Culture (film and television) from Lillehammer University College, including a year at Hawaii Pacific University, and graduated from Nordland College of Art and Film the spring of 2009. Iversen started making short films at a very young age. He participated in the regional young peoples film festival Laterna Magica for the first time at the tender age of eight (!), and even won 1st prize for best manuscript in his class (the script was presented through a cartoon). He has since participated in the festival many times, and has among other thing served on the festival's jury. At the festivals 20th anniversary in 2011, Iversen was also the recipient of the festivals first ever Honorary Award.
Iversen has written and directed numerous short films, many of which have been screened at various international film festivals, including Gaute på bjerget (1999) - which was selected by the Norwegian Film Institute to participate at the Director's View International Student Film Festival in Stamford, Connecticut - and A Tale of Balloons, which, among others, was screened at Clermont-Ferrand and Le Carrousel International Festival of Youth Cinema of Rimouski. In addition to writing and directing, Iversen is also an experienced cinematographer, editor and producer, and has worked on several other films in these capacities, in addition to his own films.
