The Norwegian Sámi singer Ella is torn between city life in Oslo and her roots in Northern Norway. When a mining company threatens Sámi land and water, she decides to leave the city to save her home. Rahčan – Ella’s Riot is both a portrait of an extraordinary voice and an inspiring story of how far music, love and solidarity can take you.

    Anne Marte Blindheim (b. 1980) is a Norwegian journalist and documentary film maker. She graduated from OsloMet in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and worked several years as a reporter and op-ed writer in the daily press before moving on to documentary. She has contributed as a writer and content producer to several documentary series for Norwegian broadcasters and takes special interest in topics such as politics, current affairs, climate and environmental issues. Rahčan - Ella's Riot is her first full length documentary film.
