Stories of Courage
(Forteljingar om mot)
Among us, people live who had to flee from their native country because of their words. What made them a threat to those in power? How can something become so important that people place their lives in danger?
Stories of Courage is a film about four authors and poets from four different countries, who through the use of the pen has fought hard for their believes. Despite threats, terror and torture, they never stopped speaking out against suppression and censorship.
Their stories are different, but also similar. They have all felt fear - but chose to act. How is it to put your life at risk in a totalitarian regime because of your writing and opinions, and then suddenly arrive in a democracy with the right to speak out your believes?
Do they now have the freedom of expression they have been fighting for?
Do we?
