The Second Sex is a film about a grandmother, a mother and a daughter – three humans and three generations from the post-war era up until today. The film explores how being a woman affect choices, ambitions and the relationships with others. A film where the woman protagonist is the universal human.

    Katja Eyde Jacobsen (b. 1978) graduated from the Norwegian Film School in 2006, after also having studied film in both Denmark and the Czech Republic. Her graduation film, To the Moon, received several awards at international film festivals, and was nominated for the National Film Award Amanda in 2007, as was her 2007 short Interlude. She made her feature film debut with the youth drama Yatzy in 2009, which yet again garnered her an Amanda Nomination, this time for Best Children and Youth Film.
