One night a year anything is possible.

Magda, 11, is a fresh black metal-fan. She's not like the other girls at school. When Halloween comes, Magda has no one to go trick or treating with. She lives with her Polish father and her 16-year-old big sister. When her sister goes to an illegal party, Magda is left alone and has an unpleasant encounter with some girls from school. But during the evening, she meets Nils Olav with whom she is in love and who is also a metal-fan. The two hit it off, and Magda gets the confidence to ignore the mean pretty girls.
