Åtte team bestående av produsenter og manusforfattere har gått sammen som en del av Nordic NEST og jobber nå på tvers av landegrenser med sine film- og serietreatments. Programmet fra MOIN Film Fund, det tyske filmfondet FFA og The Five Nordics, der Norsk filminstitutt er med, går dermed inn i manusfasen, og de tre beste prosjektene vil bli kunngjort under filmfestivalen i Cannes.
The Five Nordics er samarbeidsorganet til de nordiske filminstituttene.
De åtte tysk–nordiske utviklingsteamene består hver av én manusforfatter samt én tysk og én nordisk produsent. Blant prosjektene finner vi en tysk-finsk roadmovie, en high-end dramaserie fra Tyskland, Danmark og Norge, en thriller fra Finland, Island og Tyskland og en svart komedie fra Tyskland, Norge og Sverige. MOIN Film Fund støtter prosjektene med treatment-tilskudd på totalt opptil 160 000 euro.
Utgangspunktet for teambyggingen, som fant sted i februar, var et matchmaking-arrangement under Gøteborg Film Festival. Der møtte ti utvalgte manusforfattere 20 produsenter fra Tyskland, Danmark, Finland, Island, Norge og Sverige. Arrangementet ble innledet av en intensiv arbeidsuke der manusforfatterne utviklet sine film- og serieidéer sammen med Le Groupe Ouest, et av Europas mest innovative initiativer innen manusutvikling.
Etter treatment-fasen vil en jury velge ut tre prosjekter som hver vil motta ytterligere opptil 60 000 euro i manusutviklingsstøtte og bli annonsert under filmfestivalen i Cannes. Sirkelen avsluttes under Filmfest Hamburg 2026, der de utviklede prosjektene for første gang vil bli presentert for det internasjonale markedet.

As the boy is drawn deeper into the phenomenon, Ellin stays to uncover the truth and finds herself between local scientists, a powerful free church, and a question that shifts from who killed her brother to what killed him.
Nordic NEST er et initiativ fra MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, i partnerskap med det tyske filmfondet FFA og The Five Nordics – alliansen mellom de nordiske filminstituttene.
NEST-programmet, utviklet av MOIN Filmförderung, har allerede vist seg vellykket i Tyskland og implementeres nå internasjonalt for første gang. Med Nordic NEST tas nye steg innen internasjonal samutvikling, og initiativet legger et solid grunnlag for fremtidige samproduksjoner mellom Tyskland og de nordiske landene.
