The New Producers Room is an initiative of the Cannes Film Festival launched in 2022, which each year selects ten emerging producers working in short film.

Stian Skjelstad has been selected to participate in the New Producers Room at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. He studied producing at the Norwegian Film School and founded the production company Mindre Film in 2024. His feature debut as producer, A Human Position (2022), was invited to Rotterdam, San Sebastián and Chicago.

Norwegian Showcase
The popular magician Alexx repressed what happened when he was young, when his father killed his mother and was later convicted for it. Alexx’s three siblings were minors, and he took on great responsibility for them in the aftermath. His solution to the pain was to turn to the stage, to the freedom he finds there. With magic as a metaphor, the audience is presented a story of memory, loss and forgiveness.

Sørfond grants top financing for co-production of fiction and documentary films where the main producer is located in a DAC-country.
This scheme is designed to stimulate increased exports of Norwegian films by providing grants for the marketing and distribution of Norwegian films abroad.
You may apply for funding of collective launch events and financing initiatives held in international arenas.
The film production incentive grants return on costs spent in Norway to international films and series produced entirely or partly in Norway.
