Ibelin tells the story of Mats Steen, a young Norwegian man who died at the age of 25 from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare genetic disorder that causes muscle degeneration. After his death, Mats’ parents discovered that their disabled son, who for the last years of his life had been in a wheelchair and needed constant medical assistance, has led a rich and eventful life online and made friends around the world on the way. When they heard of his passing, more than 50 friends contacted the family to tell them what he had meant to them. It was people from all over Europe, and some of them travelled to Norway to attend the funeral. The film explores how Mats could change the lives of so many people he never met physically, and how it is being social in a virtual world.

No Other Land

No Other Land tells the story of a Palestinian activist who teams up with an Israeli investigative journalist. Together, they fight against Israel's settlement policies, which displace Palestinians on the West Bank daily, leaving them homeless.

The film powerfully portrays Palestinian activism and emphasizes how the spirit of activism is passed down from generation to generation. Over several years, an Israeli-Palestinian film collective—comprising two Palestinian and two Israeli filmmakers—documented the injustices faced daily by Palestinians in the West Bank, culminating in the dramatic developments of autumn 2023.

No other land is written and directed by Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor, Basel Adra, and Hamdan Ballal.

The film is a Palestinian-Norwegian coproduction, produced by Yuval Abraham, Basel Adra, Rachel Szor, Hamdan Ballal and Norwegian minority producer Antipode Films, with producers Bård Kjøge Rønning and Fabien Greenberg at the helm.

The film received NOK 375,000 in co-production support from the Norwegian Film Institute.
