Nordic Film Days in Paris

Features

The Nordic film days Visions Nordiques will start in Paris on Wednesday, March 5, and will run for five days. Visions Nordiques is a major showcase of Nordic cinema in the French market, featuring screenings of 12 new Nordic films, including the French premiere of Love by Dag Johan Haugerud, as well as a co-production program for Nordic producers.

Visions Nordiques – French Nordic Film Days is being held for the first time this year and is a collaboration between the association of Nordic film institutes The Five Nordics, the French film institute CNC, and the Swedish Institute in Paris, with support from the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic embassies in France.

An Important Forum for Norwegian Film in Europe

– The Nordic film days Visions Nordiques in Paris are an important forum for Norwegian cinema in Europe. This event also highlights the significance of collaboration between the Nordic film institutes in The Five Nordics, says Kjersti Mo, director of the Norwegian Film Institute.

The program Visions Nordiques – French Nordic Film Days includes the Norwegian feature films Love (directed by Dag Johan Haugerud), Safe House (directed by Eirik Svensson), and Lovable (directed by Lilja Ingolfsdottir).

Two Swedish-Norwegian co-productions are also featured in the program: The Hypnosis (co-produced by Meir Film AS), starring Herbert Norum, and the documentary Hacking Hate (co-produced by Fuglene AS).

The program also includes a film classic from each Nordic country, with Norway represented by Reprise (directed by Joachim Trier, 2006).

Screenings at Le Grand Accreditation

The films were selected by project manager Mattias Nohrborg from Tri Art Film in collaboration with the Swedish Institute in Paris, and the screenings will take place at the cinema Le Grand Accreditation in Paris. Dag Johan Haugerud will participate in a Q&A session after the premiere of Love.

The industry section of Visions Nordiques will be held at the French film institute CNC, bringing together producers, directors, distributors, and other industry professionals from the Nordic countries and France. The aim is to promote collaboration between the French and Nordic film industries. The program includes panel discussions, case studies on co-production, distribution, talent development, international sales, and more. Representing Norway are Lotte Sandbu and Synnøve Hørsdal from Maipo Film and Ingvil Sæther Berger from Motlys.
