Liv Ullmann, a Norwegian animated short film, and two Norwegian co-productions are so far the Norwegian winners of an Oscar.
Liv Ullmann received an honorary Oscar in 2022 for her long service to the art of cinema. In 1952, the Norwegian-Swedish documentary Kon-Tiki received an Oscar for Best Documentary. The Danish poet of Torill Kove won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2007. No Other Land, a Palestinian-Norwegian co-production directed by Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor and Hamdan Ballal won the Oscar in 2025.
In addition, several Norwegian productions have been shortlisted and nominated for awards.
